Key Data View
A 'Key Data View' facility has been added to the Form Guide Page
for an upcoming race field.
The 'Standard View' form table (which exists currently) can be
switched to the new 'Key Data View' by means of a user selectable
radio button. This in-turn displays a user controlled drop-down,
enabling the choice of a Key Data 'form-type' to display for up to
10 previous race starts (depending on the display form size
setting).
This enables an 'at-a-glance' comparison across all runners
entered in an upcoming race to be made for the chosen Key Data
'form-type'. An active Sectional Pro Form subscription is required
to display the Sectional Benchmark Key Data form-type options.

System of the Week - 19/08
It was a good week for ProPunter with two nice winners bumping
up the coffers. Lookatim Go got the week off to a good start
saluting at Broome at $18. This was followed up with one collect
($16) from 4 selections on Saturday. With an average dividend of
almost $13 ProPunter has a moderate strike rate of 12% but the
winners have been ticking over the last few weeks making this a
system to follow.
Value_added is another system with a reasonably low number of
hits that is turning over winners at a decent rate. There have only
been 7 selections in the last month but 3 of these have won at
$8.50, $9 and Kiss A Rose at $11 on Saturday. Remember, it only
costs $5 to subscribe to a system for a week and if there are no
hits then the money is refunded. This is important as a number of
our most successful systems are very targeted in their
objectives.
The Strig's Peter Moody based system Metro Moody struck gold
last week with 3 massive winners on Saturday. Kiss A Rose
($11), Thy ($27) and Hanks ($34) completed a massive week. There
are a number of long term successful Moody based systems available
and only The Strig was able to pick all of these long priced
winners making Metro
Moody our System of the Week.
System of the Week - 12/08
System of the Week returns for the 2013-14 racing
season!
The biggest priced winner of the week was easily Don'tworry
Nohurry for Super
Smokies at Cranboure on Sunday. $58 collects don't come
along too offen....Super
Smokies has had a great strike rate since it was released a few
weeks ago - 3 wins from 9 runners. Great stuff for a system
with an average dividend of over $40.
Ricardo's Geldings
has proved a great system for followers since last spring.
With 150 runners since creation and 50 of those winners, Richardo's Geldings is
returning 18% profit on turnover. On the weekend 4 out of 7
selections got home across the major metro tracks.
Formulator's new system Home Boys is off to an
amazing start in it's first 6 weeks of exisitance. 18 runners
for 11 winners since the start of July inlcuding an perfect 3 from
3 last week (all on Saturday at metro venues). Hard to go
past Home Boys as our first System of the Week winner for the new
racing season. Subscribe here.
Recent System Inconsistencies
We identified some issues over the weekend around our ratings
based data and systems. These fields are: Run Style, Class
Change and Settle Position. Any systems that included these
fields were not consistently identifying runners prior to a race
(since release of the update). This was due to form data and
ratings based data coming in at separate times. In some
circumstances systems runner checks were performed before ratings
data became available. This resulted in runners not be
identified pre-race but being listed in results.
We have now resolved this issue and hope we are yet another step
closer to complete integrity of notifications vs results.
Our ultimate aim is to ensure all systems hits are delivered
regardless of variable data, scratchings and other issues. We
are very close to reaching this aim thanks to the support of
our core system users.
We are going to look at handing out some credits to our
subscribers who encountered these problems over the last week.
Thanks for your support.
System Notification Workflow Changes
We have modified the way in which system subscribers are
notified of upcoming runners. This change addresses a major
concern that our users have about pre-race notifications matching
post-race results.
A number of systems have some type of criteria that can be
affected by scratchings. For example, a system might have a
criteria for a runner to be the highest prize money earner in
a race. Consider a horse is second in this category, but
the highest ranking horse was scratched. This would result in
a system hit not being sent via a notification, but appearing as a
system result after the race due to the scratching.
We have implemented the follow changes to our workflow
to deal with this scenario:
1) Systems are re-executed
whenever a scratching occurs and any newly qualifying runners are
immediately sent out as a notification (in accordance with user
notification preferences). The user dashboard on the web site
is also updated.
2) Systems that have the
variable criteria of Starting Price and Track Condition, will have
these criteria ignored for the purposes of sending
notifications. A note will be applied to the notification and
dashboard indicating that the user must apply these criteria
manually. This workflow has been in place for Starting Price
for some time.
3) Any systems that have
volatile criteria (that can be affected by scratchings) will have a
flag against them ion the
dashboard. When subscribing to these systems, users should be
aware that new qualifying runners could become available at any
point as a result of scratchings.
4) We recommend downloading
and using the Punting Form iPhone app (coming soon to Andriod) as
this is the best mechanism for receiving live systems updates.
Limitations and future plans:
- The process of detecting live changes to systems takes 1-2
minutes to take effect after a scratching is officially
reported. Therefore it is unlikely that any scracthings at
the gate will be reported in time. For the purposes of
systems integrity, these runners will still be included in
results.
- Late jockey changes that impact systems with jockey criteria
are currently not supported. Any system runners that qualify
as a result of late jockey changes will not currently be
reported. We will be working to address this issue in a
similar manner to scratchings in the near future.
Punting Form work hard to ensure that our users have
access to the best horse racing systems builder available.
For our system subscribers we have the ultimate objective of
providing a transparent mechanism for picking winners based on past
patterns. The integrity of our identified notifications and
subsequently reported results is the most important aspect of what
we do. The hard work that has gone into these updates aims to
improve the integrity of our systems and give subscribers
confidence in the system results.
Happy Punting.
New Staking Plans and Leader Board Options
We have introduced a number of different leader board options to
stimulate some competition amongst our system designers and to
provide some different perspectives on system performance.
Adjust the duration of time that a system reports stats
on:
- User Defined: This is the old default time period which
is defined by the system's creator.
- Since Creation: This option allows you to see how the
system has performed since it was created. It's fairly easy
to reverse engineer a winning system but can it perform in the
future?
- Last 3 Months: This will give an indication of the recent
performance of a system. Many systems have been running
successfully for years and are profitable over time but how are
they doing lately?
New staking options to play with:
- Flat Staking: This is our old default. It's been
updated to reflect flat bets of $50 on every selection.
- Proportional Staking: Assumes a starting bank of
$1000. You bet to win 5% of your bank. If a horse is
paying $3 and your bank is $1000 you would be betting to win
$50. So a wager of $25 would be required. The next
runner would be calculated on a bank of $1050 or $975 depending on
the previous result. Maximum bet is $1000.
- Kelly Staking: This is a method for the hard core punters
out there. Our rules implement "1/4 Kelly" with a starting
bank of $1000 and a maximum bet of $1000. For a basic
explanation of this staking philosophy and a handy bet calculator

System Issue
A number of users have bought to our attention a discrepancy in
the results/notifications for Mega Pot.
Surfside appears as a hit for yesterday and Jestalottery was
identified as a hit but is not reported.
Mega Pot has a restriction that there must be between 8 and 17
horses in the race. Surfside appeared as a runner after
scratchings took the number of runners down below 18.
Jestalottery became a non-runner when scratchings reduced the field
below 7.
We are working to put a similar practice in place for this type
of scenario that we have for starting price, where there is a
warning to check that particular criteria before betting.
This release will be out shortly along with a number of other major
improvements to our Systems Dashboard.
We apologise for the missed winner and hope that Jabu at $21
keeps Mega Pot punters banks alive.
